Last night, three friends and I drove to Hesse’s capital, Wiesbaden, to the Hessian State Theatre for a production of the casting show “Das Supertalent”, Germany’s version of “Got Talent”. One of us had won four tickets and so we jumped at our opportunity to be part in a television production. Stuff for free is great.
Since yesterday’s production will only be broadcasted in October, I am not allowed to say anything about it yet. But: my report on last night is already written and saved as a draft here on WordPress. It will be published directly after the broadcast. Cross my heart! But I can say this much: it was definitely an interesting experience and a fun evening. So stay tuned…
Time. Every individual has the same amount of hours and minutes daily. And still, every one of them uses this time differently.
Some wake up early on their own, make coffee, have breakfast and make a list, what one has to do throughout the day. Those things are then done one by one, lunch is eaten and then the to-do-list is worked off further until the early evening. Then there is time for anything, whatever one wants to do. A stirdy, eight to nine hour sleep ends the day.
Others however also get up relatively early. Breakfast and coffee also are made. But there is no list. At least not a specific one. Things are done, many thousand other little things are done in between, which are not that important, the important ones are shuffled off. Latter pester one in the head until the pressure is just too huge. They then need to be done (often it has something to do with studying/work or something boring) and it does not happen seldom that it will be a long night. With a little less sleep.
And again there are others, who sleep long. Really long. Breakfast turns into lunch or it is not eaten at all. The morning, no the afternoon, begins with coffee. Lots of coffee. Because it is a different take of the day when one’s day begins in the afternoon. A lot should be done. Should. But still half asleep things are done, which should only be done, once everything what is important is done. Therefore everything is delayed into the night; prior to 4 or 5 a.m. one does not lay into bed. And in the end, not much has been done. Or sometimes maybe even nothing at all. The rest was somehow more interesting.
Which of these types I am – there are definitely also mixed forms – I am, can be guessed. But with what I will be spending my next days, one can define once one saw my purchase from yesterday:

Now that is a name of a station one wants to have at the hospital. Seen around Wetzlar, Hesse, Germany.
Last weekend a few friends and I packed our bags and headed towards Wetzlar, Hesse for a weekend getaway. Because a few things will be changing with our group, we wanted to go on a short vacation together. We all did not have time for a longer vacation, but our goal was to simply spend time together anyways.

On Friday at noon I met someone for lunch. Since the weather was so beautiful, I decided to walk part of the stretch to the restaurant. While walking along the main street, something flew into my hair. Now I am happy that I looked up, in order to see where it came from. Because only then I actually realized, how green the trees on that street were.

This movie critique will not have the same structure as my previous ones. Because this movie is simply different.
Last night at 7:30 pm I sat down in the movies, hoping that the movie was really as good as so many critics had said previously. The ice-cream seller did not show up, so I had to skip my Ben & Jerry’s this time. Last night at about 10:15 om I sat in the movies, watched the end credits, while the lights began to go on again. I sat and thought. Ruminated. And at the same time I was completely mind blown and amazed. Needed ice-cream to sooth my soul for relaxation.

After having a season ticket for three years and having seen many other games before and after this period, finally the tour of the soccer stadium in Frankfurt followed. I had given it to my father as a Christmas present and it was about time we went there and did the tour.
The meeting point was at the east side. There a group of about 20 people gathered. Some were dressed in an Eintracht Frankfurt jersey, others really were asking for it: one arrived in a Dortmund jersey, a young boy even in a Bayern Munich jersey. And if that was not bad enough, it was one with RibĂ©ry’s name on the back. Comment of the tour guide: “My boy”, and points and his jersey “you are at the totally wrong place here with that thing on.” Lovely start!

The last weeks I hardly found the time to take photos. Between my last week of this semester, an important Birthday celebration and its organization and a visitor from the US family, there was not much time left. That is why now I will catch up on the project: second last (#08 light purple), last (#09 sand-brown) and this week (#10 light blue).

A few weeks ago, the American fashion store Forever 21 released a new clothing line. That itself is not something spectacular, but “Love 21 Maternity” is, as the name already says, a maternity line. And that in a store, which aims at customers of ages between 14 and 25.
And that is not all: Currently, the line is only available in five US-States. Two of these five states, California and Texas, have had the highest teenage pregnancy rates in the last years. Now of course one will ask, to what extent this was a criteria to promote the new line in exactly those states.
(via)
Surely, it is profitable to promote the line in those states, where they will be bought the most – that is a general marketing stragedy right out of the books. But do they not promote teenage pregnancies at the same time? Is Forever 21 actually now glamourizing teenage pregnancy?
