The first of Advent has passed and slowly the so called “stressful pre-Xmas period” is starting. But where does this stress come from? Why is it that every single year, we still do not have the decorations, presents or maybe even tree and are a little bit more stirred up as usual?

Christmas is at the same time, every single year. Nothing changes that. Every year in October, stores put up the first Christmas decorations or items for sale. Radio stations start playing “Last Christmas” every twenty minutes (at least that is how it feels like). It is the same cluster, just exactly one year later. And even though all these signs appear long before Christmas, we still find ourselves rushing around on December 23rd or 24th buying “last-minute gifts” – although we actually know that “Christmas is just around the corner”.
