Commit to Color 2010 – #11: green

Tag: Commit to Color 2010,PhotographyChrissara @ 8:20 pm

On Friday at noon I met someone for lunch. Since the weather was so beautiful, I decided to walk part of the stretch to the restaurant. While walking along the main street, something flew into my hair. Now I am happy that I looked up, in order to see where it came from. Because only then I actually realized, how green the trees on that street were.

Commit to Color 2010 – #08: light purple, #09: sand-brown, #10: light blue

The last weeks I hardly found the time to take photos. Between my last week of this semester, an important Birthday celebration and its organization and a visitor from the US family, there was not much time left. That is why now I will catch up on the project: second last (#08 light purple), last (#09 sand-brown) and this week (#10 light blue).

Commit to Color 2010 – #07: black

Tag: Commit to Color 2010,PhotographyChrissara @ 10:04 am

Last week’s color BLACK in the project Commit to Color 2010 technically is not really a color. That is at least what my Physics teacher told me in seventh grade – a time when I actually was a little interested in Physics. But now to my week’s photo: there are many black things and at first I thought of just simply taking a photo of a black screen, but then I came across this…

On this photo is my moleskine calender. If I ever lost it, I would be totally messed up, since I write everything in it. From appointments, university homework, notes, thoughts, addresses, numbers… It is a part of me. On top of the calender is another part of me: my cellphone Nokia 5800 Xpress Music. That also is always in my bag and has been through a lot already.

Commit to Color 2010 – #06: brown

Tag: Commit to Color 2010,PhotographyChrissara @ 12:43 pm

The project is in its sixth week already – and I still have fun committing to color this year. This week it is the color brown. And no where else do you find the color brown as often as in sweets. But it was not too easy to find a kind of chocolate that actually had also a filling, which was in a different shade of brown than the outside chocolate. But: it exists!

It is the Ritter Sport a la Mousse au Chocolat. Really yummy if you put it in the fridge for a few days prior to eating ;)

Commit to Color 2010 – #05: orange

Tag: Commit to Color 2010,PhotographyChrissara @ 11:13 pm

If you mix my to favorite colors, red and yellow, you get this weeks color: orange. So actually, one would think that I have many orange things, too. But that is not it. After looking around there were only two things I found in my surroundings, which are orange. Of course I could have taken something like a carrot or an orange, but I thought that was too simple.

The earrings are from a surfer store in the USA; the pillow from a Swedish furniture store.

Commit to Color 2010 – #04: light green

Tag: Commit to Color 2010,PhotographyChrissara @ 11:59 pm

In the last week it was all about the color LIGHT GREEN. And I realized that I have very little in light green. I do not even have a clothing piece in that color and that means something. Maybe it is because I like a strong green better, but that color’s turn is in a few weeks.

Now to the photo: The weather is finally beautiful and sunny. On such days I like to lay in the park and picnic, do stuff for university or relax with a few friends. Always present is also a little snack and since one or two weeks also my new picnic blanket, which I really love. And all that together mostly looks like this:

Commit to Color 2010 – #03: Purple

Tag: Commit to Color 2010,PhotographyChrissara @ 7:26 pm

It is my first time that I have to hand in an article to this project late and I deeply hope, this does not happen frequently. But during my short trip I had enough time, to think about what to photograph for the third color. Last week it was the color purple.

When I was young, I really like the color purple. One of the main reasons was probably, because my mom did not like the color at all. A little rebel I suppose. Today I only have very few purple clothes, and they are all not as deep as the color on the icon on the left. But luckily, women do not only have clothes, but also make-up…

Commit to Color 2010 – #02: Red

Tag: Commit to Color 2010,PhotographyChrissara @ 12:32 pm

Actually I simply had to take a photo of my room for the second week of the project which color is RED. My carpet, curtain and many other things are red. But this morning, when I was making breakfast, I discovered a much better idea: Strawberries. We had them for breakfast this morning and they had a really strong reddish color, so that they were perfect for this week’s color. But see for yourself – one overview and one close-up:

I didn’t change the contrast or color on these photos – they’re directly from the camera!

Commit to Color 2010 – #1: Blue

Since I couldn’t identify with the Project 52 anymore, because I didn’t like the figure that had to be on every picture in retrospect I decided to take part in a different photo project. I do want to pursue photography, get a routine in it and gain more experience, so I do like participating in projects like these.

The photo project is called Farbe bekennen (eng: COMMIT TO COLOR). In 30 weeks you are supposed to display 30 colors on photographs. (To read all the participation conditions, click on the logo on the left.)

I really like the idea, since I always have been fascinated and enthusiastic about colors, ever since I was little. Even my Crayons were sorted by color. And also today my clothes, especially my tops, can be found in my closet according to the color spectrum.

And since the project actually started on Monday already, here is my first photo. The first color in the project is BLUE. I did not have to think long about what I wanted to photograph. All I had to do was to open up my closet:
