Finally, the photos from my vacation in South Africa are sorted and (partly) edited. In the end, I still have close to 1000 photos in the folder. Oh well, that is what happens, if you are handling a Nikon D90 for the first time in length and detail. Yay! When I sat in terminal 4 at JFK International Airport in New York City on a Wednesday evening, I was fine. When I started boarding, I was still fine. But when the plane started to take off and we flew over the glittering lights of the city, I was not fine anymore. A big knot developed in my stomach and my neck felt like it was being strangled by a rope. I was gloomy.

For all together ten days I escaped the German winter almost eleven flight hours away to South Africa. Now, I returned, together with many new impressions. The country is extraordinary and it will take a few days until I can grasp all the things I actually saw there.
During my vacation, my little, black piece of life was carried along, as so often: my Moleskine calender. In it I wrote down things, which I noticed throughout my stay in the Eastern and Western Cape. Things, which were different, especially interesting or funny.
