Happy 30th Birthday Pac-Man
Still half asleep I turned on my Mac this morning, with a cup of Cappuccino next to me, to check my emails and read this and that on the internet. When I opened Google, my heart started beating faster, as soon I saw today’s Google logo:

The reason for this Google’s design, which supposedly will be online for the whole weekend, is Pac-Man’s 30th anniversary.
And my heart beat even faster, when I realized that you are actually able to play the game there! Because Pac-Man is one of my fondest child memories.
When I was 4 or 5 years old, my parents and I went on vacation to Austria high up into the mountains. There in the hotel was a small room, with a pool table and an arcade game machine with Pac-Man on it. I remember sitting there every evening together with my dad, chasing apples, oranges and cherries and running away from ghosts. The game simply fascinated me, as it did millions of other people, too. And later, when I got my own Super Nintendo with the Pac-Man game, my fascination reached another level. For hours I played the game alone; on weekends mostly with my dad as a duo. Of course I was the one in the game with the cute little pink bow on the Pac-Man. If I recall it correctly, we were actually really good and reached the end of it several times.
So it is not a surprise that I already played Google’s small version. My current high-score is 19710, I reached level 5. You can also play with another person, if you click on ‘Insert Coin’. The female Pac-Man can be used by using the keys W, A, S and D; the male simply with the arrow keys. I just think Google’s tribute is simply awesome! And I know now, with what I will be spending my study breaks on…!
