Welcome to the cruel world. The only movie theatre, which I know of, that shows movies in their original language is closing by the end of June this year! The building will be torn down and rebuilt – the movie theatre though will never re-open again. The nearby German movie theatre supposedly will be showing the original language movies after it closed, but it is not going to be the same.

Okay, so I changed my mind and am taking part in this Project 52 – but just a little differently, as it is intended to be. Since I am still not fond of having a figure reoccur on the pictures as a center objekt, I will make some kind of “Hide-and-Seek” – Game out of this. It is called “Canard”, and at first I want to introduce you to my personal one.

This is “Duckie”, a little rubber duck. This bright yellow thing has been around for quite some time; it is even older than me! Up until now, it was in my bathroom, as how nearly every bathroom should have a rubber duck ;) There is just one little ‘problem’: Duckie is pretty shy, so she will not be able to be seen at a first glance on the pictures. As far as time and topic allow it, I will post pictures here to the weekly topics of the project, on which you have to search for Duckie. For suggestions, please simply use the comments for that specific post. The solution will be posted with either the next picture, or when someone found Duckie and posted a comment about it. In last year’s quarter, I discovered Suris Project 52 and liked the idea of taking one picture a week to a specified topic, all year around. It is a nice way to be creative and to get me out there more with my camera. So I thought I would participate in the project the next time it started in 2010. But this year, the rules were changed a bit and now a figure always has to be on every picture you take. Since I cannot really relate to the idea (yet), I will participate noncompetitively: I will take pictures to the specified topics, just without a figure. Should I be inspired some time throughout the year by others, I will include a figure then.

The topics are always announced Sundays, which means that today it was time for topic number one: ‘ Hello World’. This topic has the function to introduce the chosen figure to the users. Since I am not using one, I will simply skip this first topic and say: Hello world, I am participating in Project 52!
